Hello!

My name is Baiжан Kanafin. I am the head of Documentolog. In January of this year (2017), the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his address to the people, instructed the Government to take measures for the transition to a digital economy, develop and approve the State Program "Digital Kazakhstan," and even open an international IT park in the area of the new Financial Center in Astana. It is certainly encouraging that the President has finally paid attention to the IT sector and its importance for the entire economy of Kazakhstan. Several meetings have already taken place with representatives of the IT business to discuss the Digital Kazakhstan State Program prepared by the Ministry of Information and Communications. As a developer of the domestic electronic document management system Documentolog, we have actively participated in these meetings. Despite some disagreements on activities and approaches to development, both government officials and the IT business agree that for the qualitative development of the IT market and the construction of a Digital Kazakhstan, increased attention must be paid to IT education.

As a leader in the market of business process automation and document management in Kazakhstan, Documentolog has accumulated significant experience in this field over the past 10 years. Since there is currently almost no quality information on this topic in Kaznet, I decided to start publishing a series of articles dedicated to the automation of business processes and document management.

I will write in my own name, not strictly adhering to an official style, so I ask for your understanding. This work is both creative and analytical. I need to outline a plan to start with. Assuming that the readers will not be fully engaged in the topic, I came up with the idea to divide the entire work into three sections. To make it relatable to real life.

 

Section 1. Needed/Not Needed
We determine whether the company actually needs an EDM? This is the most common question for small companies with up to 20 employees. Here, we will also discuss the calculation of the economic efficiency of implementing an EDM and EDS. How much will we spend and how much will we save? I will even provide a model where you can input your data and calculate the economics for your company.

 

Section 2. Selection and Implementation
If, after reading the first section and crunching the numbers for yourself, you arrive at a positive answer, the following questions arise: 
How to choose an EDM in Kazakhstan? What is available on the market? Should we implement it via SaaS or on our own servers? How to implement it correctly, and so on. This section is all about successfully reaching the Order for industrial operation. Statistics (currently only Russian) indicate that about 55% of all EDM implementation projects do not achieve their initial goals. We need to make sure that your project is different... successful... )

 

Section 3. Operation, Support, and Development 
After the Order for industrial operation (by the way, not everyone has this at all), real life begins. The contractor has received their payment, and you are left alone with the product that you believed, when signing the acceptance act, would now make life and work in your company a fairy tale.. Usually, it is at the support stage that the Customer learns what of what the Contractor promised when selling is true and what is far from it.. 
Therefore, in this section, we will discuss the most common problems and questions that arise for the Customer during the operation of the EDM. Of course, I will draw from the experience of operating Documentolog's EDM in more than 150 companies.
