About the different types of EDS and what we offer

Due to the vast number of offerings in the electronic document management (EDM) market, choosing the right product becomes a challenging task. Each developer or vendor, eager to sell their product, presents numerous arguments in favor of their goods. We, on the other hand, aim to sell our product to those who truly need and fit it. Therefore, we present to you a brief description of the main categories of electronic document management systems, as well as our development - Documentolog EDS - to help you make the right decision.
Main Types of EDS.
Without going into details, there are three main types of EDS - SaaS service solutions (SaaS stands for Software as a Service), box solutions, and custom developments.
1. SaaS Service Solutions - these are typically EDS systems that include the core functionality of document management within a company, are user-friendly, and relatively affordable. There is no need to purchase special equipment or client licenses for their implementation. The system is implemented and operated over the Internet on the provider's equipment, and payment is made either as a one-time fee or monthly as a subscription. These factors make this solution easy and accessible for both large and small companies. The only downside of most of these solutions is their weak adaptability to client needs, meaning the ability to change functionality is either very limited or completely absent. In other words, if you like it - use it, if you don't - well, you've already bought it...
2. Box Solutions -these are large-scale systems that require the purchase of special server equipment, its configuration, and the separate purchase of client licenses for each user. The advantages of these systems include a wide range of functionalities, high scalability, and great adaptability. The downsides include the high cost of product implementation, making it accessible only to relatively large companies, as well as a lengthy bureaucratic process that must be navigated each time something needs to be changed after the initial implementation.
3. Custom Developments -the name speaks for itself. A platform is taken as a basis, on which various solutions for automating business processes, including EDS, are offered. Such a product can be made entirely tailored to your company, depending on the competence of the developer's technical staff, the capabilities of the platform itself, and your financial resources. The result is usually a product fully adapted to your company that is easy and convenient to use.
